A little over two years ago, I embarked on a journey to write my first novel.  If you would have asked me ten years ago if I would have ever found enjoyment in an endeavor such as this, I probably would have laughed and asked about paint drying on the wall or something equally exciting.

However, as times change, so do interests.  As I was watching the dynamic in the world around me, I found myself disturbed by emerging trends, more specifically the intolerance to deviations of group think.

I am an engineer and know that even if fifty people say something needs to be designed a certain way to work, that doesn’t mean it will work if I do it that way.  Increasingly, our society has been influenced by forces that are intertwining political viewpoints into what is being labeled as science.  And if enough people say it is true, then who am I to doubt science?

Contrary to what you may think when reading the summary of Call of Kayden, I am not anti-science.  So much of where we are today as a society is due to following the scientific method and allowing for and promoting innovation, regardless of where it takes us.  In history, whenever either church or governments tried to mandate what scientific truths were, development stagnated.  I believe we are at risk for this happening again.

But you will also surmise that I am not anti-religion either.  The Dreamer Series is designed to show how there can be a place for both science and faith together in a vibrant society.  Both can exist in harmony which runs contrary to some narratives you may hear in the world around you.
